A to Z book meme
A. Author You’ve Read The Most Books From
Terry Pratchett with 41 Discworld novels, 1 short story collection, Dodger, Nation, and Good Omens. Before I read Discworld it was Avi.
B. Best Sequel Ever
I'll go with Unicorn's Blood by Patricia Finney. Firedrake's Eye is good but Unicorn's Blood is brilliant and despite having two male protagonists, it's an explicitly pro-choice narrative.
C. Currently Reading
The last book I finished was Rimrunners by C. J. Cherryh. I liked it well enough.
D. Drink of Choice While Reading
I have recently done my best to give up all acidic drinks, so water.
E. E-Reader or Physical Books
Both! I do love being able to search e-books for a reference instead of having to skim through a hundred pages. I still read paper books more because my library has more of them. Or at least, they have more that I am interested in.
F. Fictional Character You Would Have Dated In High School
I was in love with Philip Pullman's Jim Taylor.
G. Glad You Gave This Book A Chance
Tom Sawyer followed by Huckleberry Finn. I thought I probably wouldn't like them but I did.
H. Hidden Gem Book
Oh dear, I already mentioned Patricia Finney. The Gift of Sarah Barker by Jane Yolen, a romance between a boy and girl living in a Shaker community.
I. Important Moments of Your Reading Life
Reading Harry Potter because it led me to the internet, which led me to more of half of everything I've read from late 2003 to the present.
J. Just Finished
Merchanter's Luck by Cherryh. Part of the Alliance-Union universe but the only book with Sandor and Allison, I'm pretty sure. Enjoyable.
K. Kinds of Books You Won’t Read
Hmmm. I don't read often horror but it's not that I refuse to. I guess it's political books by right-wingers like Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh.
L. Longest Book You’ve Read
Either Tom Jones or whichever of the first seven Outlander books is longest.
M. Major Book Hangover Because Of
I'm not really susceptible to those.
N. Number of Bookcases You Own
None at the moment. All my books are still in boxes.
O. One Book That You Have Read Multiple Times
At Swim, Two Boys by Jamie O'Neill. I just reread it and it's even better now that I know more of the history.
P. Preferred Place to Read
On a couch, always.
Q. Quote From A Book That Inspires You/Gives You Feels
When I was young I latched onto "Everyone has a right to be happy in their own way" from A Long Fatal Love Chase.
R. Reading Regret
I wish I'd read mostly fantasy as a kid like the rest of fandom.
S. Series You Started and Need to Finish
I still have to read the third Machineries of Empire book.
T. Three Of Your All-Time Favorite Books
Sticking to things I haven't already mentioned: Freedom and Necessity by Steven Brust and Emma Bull, the Westmark trilogy by Lloyd Alexander, and The Winter Prince by Elizabeth Wein.
U. Unapologetic Fangirl For
Amy March! The greatest character in the history of literature! I'm so glad the upcoming movie seems to have a less OOC version of her than other adaptations.
W. Worst Bookish Habit
I'm not sure I have any?
V. Very Excited For This Release More Than Any Other
The Baron of Magister Valley by Brust! Fantasy!Monte Cristo. A small part of me wishes it was The Baroness of Magister Valley but I'm sure there will be other interesting genderswaps.
Sarah Smith's fourth Reisden/Halley book.
The end of the Attolia series.
The Thorn of Emberlain if it comes out next year.
X. Marks The Spot (Start On Your Bookshelf And Count to the 27th Book)
Lorna Doone. (I used my Librarything to see what it would be if I had shelves.)
Y. Your Latest Book Purchase
Thornbound by Stephanie Burgis.
Z. ZZZ-Snatcher (last book that kept you up WAY late)
Republic of Thieves. I waited five years for it, after all.
