Spoilers for Gloriana's Torch, which I have now finished. Seriously, don't click.You can't do that! Killing Becket is one thing. Killing Becket and not writing about Simon hearing about it is just terrible. Yes, it was nice when Simon found Rebecca, but it needed an epilogue. More of an epilogue. Even a damn drabble like Lois McMaster Bujold would have been nice. If we got Shakespeare buying a book, we could have gotten a grieving Simon drabble.
Why am I saying we? I don't know.
So Becket has two children, one posthumous. Well, now I know why there's no fourth book. Actually, I'd read a fourth book with just Simon.
I did not like the introduction and closing with the mentions of cars and telephones. A narrative style similar to the other books would have been better. Tom and the Virgin Mary were characters in their own right, and the omniscient point of view was so elegant. Unicorn's Blood > Firedrake's Eye > Gloriana's Torch.
