Which it's thoughts on A Game of Thrones

Now that was a good book. It was fun watching Dany grow. I was hoping Viserys would die, and he did, and it was awesome. I do wonder if the baby is in fact dead.

I love Catelyn for suggesting peace, though of course it was never going to happen. I also liked when she was naked in front of the Maester. And it's nice to be able to picture her home exactly. "She remembered the godswood, drooping branches heavy with moisture, and the sound of her brother’s laughter as he chased her through piles of damp leaves."

Jon is one of my favorites, and I loved his scene with Arya (who is awesome). I hope there's more of those to come. Ned is, or rather was, great. A good dad and a good man. I knew he was going to die, but I didn't know how. I knew Cersei's children were Jaime's yet I didn't realize that was what Ned was trying to figure out.

I like Sansa, though I'd like her more if she got angry at Sandor. He was rather rude (okay, this is admittedly me projecting my own issues on that scene).

Tyrion is the best! He had plenty of good lines. He has some really interesting family relationships, especially with his father. And he was good to Bran, so I like him. Here's hoping he doesn't die.

There was probably more I wanted to say, but I can't think of any more. Maybe I'll take notes on the next one.

Edit: You know, this is only the sixth time I've read adult fantasy. Tolkien, Lynch, Cherryh, Donaldson, Clarke. And all but Tolkien were because of desperatefans.
