The more time passes, the more I don't just hate the Hound. I regret that GRRM didn't have Sansa hate him. The more I think about it, the more unrealistic I find her lack of loathing him. I wish she had explicitly decided that his verbal abuse was worse than any beating. I wish she had killed him, or at the very least, daydreamed about it.

You don't deserve any praise for refusing to hit a child if you mock and insult that child. No forgiveness.

1. I'm excited for tomorrow's Game of Thrones episode. I haven't been watching the show, but I know what part of the book it's at.

2. I know I signed up to write about Sansa's intelligence for [community profile] month_of_meta. And I'm still going to post it. I've reread all her chapters, so I just have to write it.

1. For Pete's sake, not everyone in fandom is into sci-fi and fantasy, okay?

2. Sandor Clegane is verbally abusive to Sansa Stark. He insults her intelligence, mocks everything she values, and calls her "little bird." The fact that he prevents Joffrey from physically abusing her does not excuse his verbal abuse.

3. I am not a fan of Twilight.

4. But when people bash SMeyer by claiming that she is unable to write a fight scene I want to shake them.

On the whole I quite liked the series and I'll read A Dance with Dragons when it comes out (Dany! Tyrion! Jon!). Read more... )

I think that's it? If you want opinions on anything, just ask. XD.

Now that was a good book. Read more... )

There was probably more I wanted to say, but I can't think of any more. Maybe I'll take notes on the next one.

Edit: You know, this is only the sixth time I've read adult fantasy. Tolkien, Lynch, Cherryh, Donaldson, Clarke. And all but Tolkien were because of desperatefans.

I believe the actual holiday was yesterday, but whatever.

The book I am reading: Well, this morning I walked to the public library and read The Mischief of the Mistletoe in four and a half hours. I've been slowly making my way through The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and to procrastinate last night I read the first two chapters of A Game of Thrones. I almost made an entry about how Catelyn Stark was from REDWOODS, OMG and why did nobody tell that and I hope I don't dislike her.

The book I am writing: None

The book I love most: asfalgfj. Okay, Beyond the Western Sea, Little Women, and At Swim, Two Boys. Three is close to one, right?

The last book I received as a gift: The Complete Sherlock Holmes

The last book I gave as a gift: I have no idea. It was probably giving old easy chapter books to some family friend.

The last book I bought myself: The Lies of Locke Lamora and The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing: The Kingdom on the Waves. Which wasn't breaking my "no buying books you've already read" rule, because the rule has a clause about fanfic plans.

The nearest book on my desk: All this semester's textbooks are in one pile on my desk. All the non-textbooks and a few of last semester's are on the shelf under the desk.
